I'm 55, single and was quite content with my life untill 3 years ago when all hell broke loose. In 03 i found out I had breast cancer and had surgury and chemo..04 had surgury to fix 3 discs in my neck and 05 had 4 discs in my lower back repaired. After going through that I thought I was a fairly strong person emotionally..but in 05 my mother was diagnoused (?) with alzhiemers and I have become her live-in care giver and at times my true strenghts are tried

Close Alzheimer's Disease
Stage: AdvancedLast september I moved in with my 84 year old mother, who has alzheimers. I knew it would be a challange but it is so heartbreaking too, she is at the stage where her memory span is less than 1/2 hr. She has always been a very strong independent person and it is hard for her to except that she needs constant care. My sister who lives 2 miles down the road is of no help and my sister who lives 100 miles away either comes down once a month or we go up there to sort of give me a break.

Close Chronic Pain
I had a cervical fusion on 4 discs in 04 and a laminectomy on 3 discs in 05. I still have servere pain when walking..I am in pain management and so far 3 epurdurles(?) have not worked
