      I am 29 years old and have a 10 year old daughter. Married a great girl one month ago, but confessed that she is uncomfortable with the step mother role. She doesn't see the relationship as her and I. She sees it as her, me, and my daughter. I'm not sure how to make her feel more comfortable.

      I'm 29 years old with a 10 year old daughter. Her mother and I broke up when she was 2. April 21st I got married to a great girl who is 28. Given my situation I am pretty lucky. My daughter's mother and I get along great. My daughter's mother and my wife get along great. It's a balancing act sometimes, but bottomline is everyone's on the same team. I joined this site after my wife and I had a little arguement about my daughter. I want to be proactive to prevent future problems.

      We have to feel comfortable saying how we feel, as well as have comfort that people are open minded and listening.

      The greatest freedom we have is freedom of choice. We choose how we show up in life, regardless of what's happening. We have so much control.

      Next week I will have been married one year. It has been a frustrating and tiring year and I am questioning how I feel.

      Patience Somewhat Helpful
      I don't feel I am respected and I try to be patient and make suggestions to get us on the same page. I don't belive my wife is self-aware enough to stop with the behavior.
