Dear Daddy I am standing here,

Legs trembling, eyes filled with tears,

I am confused; I don’t know what to do,

I am trying so hard to be just like you.

I know I am unworthy of your name,

But you call me you own just the same.

Dear Daddy just what can your son do?

How can I show how much I love you?

Dear daddy I really want you to know,

How much you have helped me to grow.

You taught me love, honor and mercy to,

I would have been nothing with out you.

I want to pass along what you showed me,

I want my children’s eyes the beauty to see.

Dear Daddy please grant to them to.

For I know it can only come from you.

Dear Daddy place in their hearts a yearn,

A desire, a passion for your way to learn,

Dear Daddy, teach what they are to do,

That may be more like you.
