Moment of Peace
hey, there! nice to hear from you.....and that's great about your friend!! I've been doing better than I thought....thanks for your encouragement, just had to try NOT to think about it so hard , and it's all falling in to place, thanks. Am ok in general, but have to get minor surgery next week to remove polyps. Am glad to have them removed, but know I need rest afterwards....but a few days off from work would be nice right about now anyway!! lol........take it easy, friend! peace. "Fire"

Married a wonderful woman with two kids. One 'white' and one 'mixed' -- like me.
Close Rape
I was raped by three "friends" while passed out in my own bed. I think this attributed to my alcoholism (I'm in recovery) but I can't say for certain, after all, drinking was my choice. One of the guys has since been killed in a car accident. I was overjoyed when I heard that. I have forgiven them, however. At least I think I have. But I know this event still has ramifications in my sexual and daily life with my wife.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- I was at least able to admit it happened. It wasn't until Rehab that I did, though.
Open Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
My wife has PTSD from some events that happened while she was in the military. I would like to join, because I take her anger outbursts personally, and I need to come to an understanding of her issues. I was also gang-raped as a youth, so I think I have tendencies towards PTSD, but mine are more passive.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- Not much. I didn't open up to my therapist.
- Rape Counseling Working / Worked
- Went to counseling. Admitted to being raped. That's about it. Rehab helped more than that did.
