Hope you are having a great day. I grew up in Lisle, so I'm familiar with Glen Ellyn. Opposite side of the size spectrum though. At 5'9" I'm the shrimpy lady in my family, most family members around 6'4" for men and 6' for women. Take care!

Close ADHD / ADD
Dx 2 yrs. ago. Currently involved in the ADD community. Organizer for the Annual ADD Awareness Day event in Chicago. Member of CHAAIN.org, and the Naperville Adult ADD support group.

- Adderall Not Working
- Done with that.
- Concerta Not Working
- A short engagement
- Focalin Working / Worked
- another quick trip to nowhere.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- Getting together with my friends on a weekly basis , we try to chat online as much as possible. It also helps that I come from an adhd family.
- Wellbutrin Working / Worked
- One of the many drugs I am on right now. Works pretty well for me.
- Lamictal Working / Worked
- I was prescribed this drug so I could try to give up Ambien. Another drug that's part of my cocktail.
- Support Groups Working / Worked
- By far, my most favorite and effective treatment choice. It took me a while to understand by sharing my story, I was helping others share their story. I have met so many great people from different groups I have visited, I love meeting other people just like me.
- Concerta Somewhat Helpful
- I only gave this drug a 3 week try. And then I decided to try something else.
- Education (School) Working / Worked
- Educating myself about adhd has been a contributing factor in my treatment, learning as much as I can about adhd has helped in so many ways.
- Lunesta Working / Worked
- Worked for me for about a year, and then had to switch to a higher dosage drug.
- Geodon Not Working
- I had a severe allergic reaction to this med, plus it took away my personality.
- Focalin Not Working
- I forgot why I stopped taking this drug...but I remember that I did Focalin for a short time.
- Ambien Working / Worked
- I cannot live without this one.
Close Parenting Preschoolers (3-5)
I have a 5 yr old who I swear, she's a hyper-typer with ADD just like me.

- Everyday is a new learning experience. I know I am blessed with family and friends who have always been around when I needed some help in life. Now if my daughter came pre-dx'ed, that would have been a good heads-up.
Open Achondroplasia (Dwarfism)
I am rather tall in my family, 4' 10". Just a little person, and I think I am very big!

- Loving and supporting my gorgeous guy is the best I know how to do. We are a VERY unique couple. I wouldn't have my husband any other way.
Open Financial Challenges
my adhd has contributed to my financial situation in oh-so-many ways. (and i will just leave it at that.)

Due to the fact I take a stimulant medication, I am pretty much dependent on meds to turn my brain off for a good night's sleep.
