Journal Entry for December 18, 2006 Mood
Monday, December 18, 2006
Hi, my name is Kelsey and I had laparscopic surgery for endometriosis in August. My surgeon was Dr. Redwine who is located in Bend, Oregon and is an endometriosis specialist. His methods are slightly different from other endometriosis surgeons. He believes in excising the lesions with cauterizing sizzors instead of lazering them away. The idea is that by doing this he is able to completely remove all the tissue even tissue that is extremely deep. A benefit to this is that he is then able to biopsey the tissue and diagnos it without a doubt as endometriosis. I had some trouble recovering because I got a UTI from the caphiter(sp?) but generally had a good experience with the hospital and staff. I was able to feel confident that he was able to get rid of all the tissue. I have been pain free for 3 months but over the past 3 days I have been experiencing pain again. It is frustrating because I don't know if this is temporary or if I will have to deal with the severe endo pain all over again. I am praying that this is not the case, but it is really hard not to be discouraged!
