Had a Thought Mood
Tuesday, July 28, 2009

It occurred to me that I've been getting steadily fatter, and doing steadily worse readings-wise, since I started going along with the new doctor's regimen.  Things improved, just not enough, when I haggled her down to regular insulin and Lantus instead of Lantus and Humalog, which costs $300 combined for refills.  Last night it struck me that one reason I'm getting fat is that I have to eat at night to avoid bottoming out in my sleep.   In effect I'm eating FOUR meals a day instead of the two I prefer. Just to see, I skipped the Lantis last night.  Lo and behold, my reading was still too high this a.m., but still 30 points lower than I'bve been having lately.

Sometimes I wonder what I pay these damned doctors for.

Could not agree more re. Drs. Paid 237$ cash, 2 days ago, to see Neuro (another small stroke) - & he told me nothing my own Doc. didn't. Seems OK for you to stick to the routine if your blood's lower. Hope it works out for you. Fond regards, JaneD.

Migraine progress Mood
Friday, May 8, 2009
This last migraine was the mildest yet since I started having the hormone-related ones -- and this was on only half the dose of nortriptyline.  And strangely, part of the success seems to be about my weightlifting.  Because my back muscles are stronger and I'm carrying myself in a more balanced way, it's harder for the muscles to knot up in some crazy position no matter what my hormones are doing.  I'm now aware of and able to control muscles I never knew I had so it's easier to sit all day at my desk, in my car, whatever.

This time the water-softener salt was even easier to lift.  But when will these damned arm-flaps go away?

If you mean what I think (we call it chicken wings)you do - sorry, but the answer is that they don't - they can be improved (tho' not at my age I'm sure) with exercise & using arms - but for 100% success, you are looking at plastic surgery. Cheaper to wear long sleeves I think! Sorry. JaneD.
