Seems things have not been so good for you?.....hope you are doing as well as you can....life can be difficult sometimes, to say the least!   Sorry to hear you missed the fair....for a much more unpleasant ordeal! Yep....any fella who can build a hot vehicle would find plenty to do here, even though the world is having a financial crisis...Aussie boys love their cars! Though these days the boys who have the hot street machines are getting their vehicles impounded with monotonous regularity...we now have "anti-hoon legislation"....The government is making a huge dollars with this one, and the new impound laws for people who get caught driving without a licence. Looks like the wild times are coming to an end. Hot rods and V-8 Supercars are really popular though, so could be good dollars to be made if you picked the right location. I remember you mentioning you've travelled our land before......I can't blame you for wanting to disappear, with your family being so mercenary when you were down....For goodness sake, don't people have any manners anymore....I guess there's merit it that old saying, "you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family". Make 'em wait......and in the words of Spock....live long and prosper ....love, light and peace from the land of Aus. PS. My team (St. Kilda) are in the Grand Final this weekend, my middle stepson flew over to Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon to catch up with some mates and watch the game....his team (Geelong) are the other team....so one of us will be getting "heaps" when he comes for dinner on Tuesday night! Go the Saints!!!!

  Thanks for the message....I am feeling much better yesterday and today, didn't need any help getting out of bed, and even spent a few hours weeding and planting yesterday. Fortunately, I don't have to use a wheelchair, the fact I may have to have a cane handy for "bad" days bothers me a lot. My mother 'phoned me yesterday and said she had a cane belonging to my great-grandmother, and I was welcome to it .....what a blow to the ego...great gran was in her eighties when she started using it! Ah well, that'll teach me for being vain!
  
  What kind of idiot designs a door for the handicapped that actually injures people when they use it!!! I can imagine you do feel you are being "chased by a black cloud" at the moment.
  
  Glad you gave the lecturers "what for"....some people are just complete asses. Many moons ago I went to business college. One of the classes was shorthand (the original Isaac Pitman style)...it was a total nightmare, as you have all these little squiggles and strokes in light and dark ink that take an age to learn and to write legibly. We had an old crone teaching us that would delight in giving five or ten minutes fast dictation and then picking out the student who was having the most trouble writing and keeping up. That student would then have to stand up in class and recite back what they wrote. I could not believe how this teacher would smirk and stand with arms folded, while the poor student would um and ah and quietly fall to pieces in front of us. It still makes me angry when I think about it, and I wasn't even one that was "picked on". Don't think anyone uses shorthand anymore....it has gone the way of telex machines and punch cards....obsolete. I don't even think the Gen. X's know what it is.....crap...another indication of getting old!

  Just dropping by to see how our resident superhero is doing. I have been a bloody mess this week...sciatica and good ol Lupus! I shouldn't whinge but I hate not being able to get around, and be so dependent, I think I will have to give in and get a cane AAARRGH! not a glam look!! But, hey, that's life I guess. I'm on my own for a few hours today (Saturday), my middle stepson is playing his grand final game (Aussie rules), I think this will be his last season and he will hang up his boots. He just turned 30 and his body has received a bit of a caning with sports injuries and a hernia (poor boy!), So Cosimo has gone to the game to watch him and my youngest begged to be allowed out to see his friend for a couple of hours (he is supposed to be grounded but I can't stand the nagging!). Hopefully, he will turn up when he is supposed to and not go AWOL for days on end......The neuro. is sending my films off to the neuro geeks to see if the angioma thing I have in my right cerebellum is of concern. The neuro said if they operate on these things it can be dangerous. I'm thinking I'll just leave it there and take my chances....it would be an easier "out" than succumbing to the vagaries of Lupus. So that in a very weird way cheered me up! So on the whole I'm feeling pretty positive. PS there is nothing wrong with accumulating money/possessions, you are a good and honourable person, so don't confuse sensibility and intelligence for greed.
