Interests
I am active in Relay For Life, in my local Synagogue as the only Religious Teacher (yes its a small Jewish Community). I love theatre and watching my kids dance and play soccer and softball. Needless to say, I rarely sleep. I also work fulltime. My husband and I say that it takes 4 adults to make sure that the girls get everywhere they are supposed to be.

Close Breast Cancer
Stage: IIB (T2 N1)Diagnosed in July, 2003, Had 2 tumors in one breast. Had a mastectomy. 6 rounds of FEC. 33 radiation treatments. Followed that by Pedicled tram. I am now battling osteopenia (beginning osteoporosis). I am on Tamoxifen as chemoprevention. I was lucky that I had tremendous support and great kids who loved drawing on my head! Being bald was not so bad. In fact, I am about to cut my locks for Locks of love...My kids will join me. Yes my hair has grown that much...
Treatments
- Adriamycin Working / Worked
- did its cousin, epirubicin.
- Mastectomy Working / Worked
- Did Modified Radical Mastectomy July 2003. Stage 2B, 2 tumors, 1 postitive node.
- Nolvadex Working / Worked
- Still in treatment, Side effects are not fun, but I like being on this side of the good green grass. 2 yrs to go!
- Radiotherapy Working / Worked
- 33 treatments, burned me, but easier than chemo.
- Reconstructive Surgery Working / Worked
- Glad I did it, wish I chosen a different procedure. Had precancerous cells in remaining breast. Hard recovery, but its over and done.
Close Migraine Headaches
I have had migraines since I was a child. Used to use phenergan and take ibuprofen. I saw a neurologist finally and got on some stronger meds....
