    • About Me

I'm a stay at home mom, wife, grandma, Christian. I've been married for 11 years now. When I married my dh, he had a 9 y old daughter & an 11 yr old daughter, whom we had every other weekend, and I really felt like a 2nd mom to them. I now have a 9 yr old son, and I used to have custody of our 2 grandbabies. My stepdaughter has regained custody though & is doing well; I now have a 5 yr old gs, a 3 yr old gd, and soon to be 1 yr old gd. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and am trying to get it under control. I also have several other health issues. I try to take it one day at a time, most days I feel about twice my age though.

    • Interests

I've always loved reading, mostly best seller novels; Dean Koontz, Janet Evanovich, Nora Roberts, Harlen Coben, James Patterson, etc. I used to love cooking as well, though I don't do it nearly as much anymore. I enjoy scrapbooking, although I am SO behind on it. I am addicted to TV shows & movies, even some of the reality shows. :) I love holding my grandbabies & spoiling them, and then handing them back when they need a new diaper or are throwing a tantrum. LOL I've just gotten started on Facebook recently & spend alot of time there. If you're interested in my facebook name, just send me a message. :)

      Treatments

      Cyclobenzaprine Somewhat Helpful
I take at bedtime,I think it helps relax the muscles a little, I'm not sure how much it actually helps though.
      Elavil Somewhat Helpful
No longer taking this med. I was on 100-125mg/day. It helped somewhat with pain & sleep, but it caused weight gain and made my fatigue worse.
      Heat Working / Worked
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
Helped, but I built up a tolerance to it, so I've switched pain meds recently.
      Klonopin Somewhat Helpful
I take .5 mg at bedtime to help stop jaw clenching. Occasionally I take it during the day for anxiety as well.
      Lyrica Working / Worked
Dr switched me from neurontin to lyrica 2/18/08. My pain level seems to be lower generally, and my energy level is generally high. Still have bad days though, guess a pill won't help that! :)
      Neurontin Not Working
Started taking Nov 20th; stopped Effexor due to side effects. Stopped taking neurontin 2/18/08-didn't help my pain.
      Prayer Working / Worked
      Vitamin B12 Somewhat Helpful
2/19/08 - Started taking Super B Complex with biotin, plus Folic Acid and Vitamin C

    • Open Child Support & Custody

I'm married & have a 7 yr old son. We now have permanent custody of my dh's 2 grandchildren. We have a 1 yr old girl & a 3 yr old boy. This was supposed to be temporary custody, but the parents never got their act together & it's become permanent. My dh still hopes his daughter will get her life together & at least get her little boy back. We will most like adopt the baby girl, since we're the only parents she's ever known.

    • Open Grandparents Raising Children

My husband & I currently have temporary custody of our 3 yr old grandson & our 10 month old granddaughter. It will likely be permanent custody by the end of the year. We raise them with our own 7 yr old son, who thinks they're pretty much his brother & sister. He can't quite understand being an uncle yet. :)
