    • About Me

Me....I had a stroke in 1999. I've been trying to take care of my family. It's not an easy task, with one good arm and leg. I have good days and bad. I have two children. My daughter got married in Nov.'06. She married a good guy. That was one of the hardest days of my life because she moved 12 hours away. My son is 18 and just started college. He's a very handsome kid. I've been married 25 years.

    • Close Stroke

My name is Vicky. I'm 46 and had a stroke 10 years ago. It was a hemorrhagic stroke. I went from being on the computer to being in the hospital. It's funny, I knew what happened. I believe I heard everything while I was in the coma. The stroke affected my right side.

      Treatments

      Baclofen Working / Worked
Given to me for the spasticity on my right side from my stroke. It seems to work alright. I don't take it as often as I should.
    • Close Alzheimer's Disease
      Stage: Advanced

My mother-in-law has AD/dementia...diagnosed in 2004. But we never knew until recently. This is a totally new experience for me, never dealt with it before. She's 78 and refuses to let us help her in ANY way. We don't know what to do next. Do we force the issue or let it play out? We don't know.

      Treatments

      Exelon Not Working
It seems as though nothing is working.
      Namenda Not Working
It doesn't seem like it's working.
    • Open Endometriosis

In Sept. '98, I had a laparoscopy where the dr. removed a cyst on my fallopian tube the size of a baseball and discovered I had extensive endometriosis. He removed what he could. 10 years later.....I think it's back.

      Treatments

      Laser Surgery Working / Worked
The surgery was to remove a cyst. While in there, the dr. discovered extensive endometriosis. He removed what he could.
    • Open Dementia

My MIL has dementia along with AD. We found out she was diagnosed in 2004. We found out in 2008 but weren't surprised.

      Treatments

      Exelon Not Working
      I don't think so.
      Namenda Not Working
      I would say not. I can't see a difference.
