About Me
I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, Stage 2A, in May of 2007. Completed 6 rounds of ABVD, no rads. Went into remission early in therapy and am happy to say I just had my CT scan and am still in remission. The hard part for me now is how to stay positive and put the fear of relapse in perspective. Believe it or not, I am finding survivorship harder in some ways than the actual treatments.

I had a total of 16 treatments, spread over 32 weeks (one every other week). It took about one week to fully recover from one treatment. One week of being normal (mostly) and repeat the cycle. It's physically and emotionally draining. My mistake was that I never confronted the emotions. Be sure you do. Take time to yourself to really look deep and make sure you're not pushing anything down in an attempt to remain 'normal' during this time. For me, I kept working 40-50 hour weeks and tried to keep up everything else. You may be able to do that easily but pay attention to your mental health during this time. For me the emotions hit me, hard, the first two weeks of May. Very hard, primarily because I'd never really confronted or dealt with them. Take care of yourself and don't be afraid to rely on family and friends for support when you hit rock bottom. They, and we, are here for you to help you through. Your strength will fail at times - let us help you. In the end you'll make it through. Kevin

I know you have been through a lot these last couple of days. I hope that you are doing OK. You are just that much closer to being healed. I'm here for you. Jeannine

Close Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Type: Nodular SclerosisI'm 48 year old married woman with 2 young adult children just diagnosed with NS Hodgkins disease. Tomorrow I will find out what stage I am in (very nervous). I also have a severe anxiety disorder since I was 12 years old. It is called hypochondriasis (hypochondria). I have a tendency to assume symptoms, can't read about diseases because I convince myself I have them. I know my success is going to depend a great deal on my mental, spiritual and physical states. All suggestions are welcome.
