Hi Swampy, looks like we are in for a hot, dry summer. Can't believe how warm it got over this side of Australia this week. The weather was cool, wet and/or windy over the last 2 weeks (school holidays), but fined up and was hot this week. Haven't had major fires near me for a couple of years so could be due for another fire. The suburb where i live is surrounded by bush/national park.
At least it is not as hot as it was 19 years ago when my son was born (his birthday is 28 October). We had temps in the high 30s/low 40s.. I remember trying to keep him cool so he could settle and sleep. I didn't have a car so would walk to the shopping centre (20 mins each way) so I could walk around the airconditioned mall. Getting a quote tomorrow for insulation. As the government is giving insulation grants, I asked the landlord if they would consider putting it in as our house is an oven in Summer and an icebox in winter.
Take care.
