About Me
I'm 26 years old and have my master's degree in communications. I recently got engaged to the love of my life and will be getting married November 2008. My life has changed dramatically in the last few months due to my poor health. I had to give up my career for the time being to concentrate on my health, and give up my dream of earning my Ph.D. I have only recently been diagnosed with Lupus and a seizure disorder after ten years of suffering from symptoms. My lupus has progressively gotten worst (affecting my lungs, kidneys, liver, causing chronic costo chondritis, autoimmune hearing loss, and most recently seizures) the past few months and now am being treated with chemotherapy and anti-seizure meds.

Interests
Wedding planning, animals (I'm particularly fond of basset hounds), music, writing, teaching at the university level, photography, going to the theatre, being silly, family, dancing (when I'm able to move, which is hardly ever anymore), research in interpersonal communication in regards to romantic relationships, family relationships, and friendships, finding a cure for lupus.

Close Lupus
I'm 26 years old and have only recently been diagnosed with Lupus after ten years of suffering from symptoms. My lupus has progressively gotten worst (affecting my lungs, liver, causing chronic costo chondritis, hearing loss, and most recently seizures) the past few months and now am being treated with chemotherapy.
Treatments
- Aciphex Working / Worked
- Celebrex Not Working
- It did help with inflamation, but was taken off because it elevated my liver enzymes.
- Compazine Somewhat Helpful
- Also take before meals because I can't keep anything down.
- Fioricet Working / Worked
- Definitely helps with my headaches.
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- Taking this to help with the side effects of the methotrexate.
- Meditation Working / Worked
- Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful
- I'm very hopeful that this will help put my Lupus into remission, but as of now, the side effects are kicking my butt!
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- I've been on Plaquenil for about four years and noticed a difference when I was taken off of it. It helps with my fatigue and skin rashes mostly.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- I have found that Prednisone is the only thing that works for my joint pain, costo chondritis, as well as my sudden hearing loss.
