Sore ... but watch the launch Mood
Tuesday, August 25, 2009 | A Frustrating story

Money is nada.

I've been working and I have an amount to invoice ...

Woe is money.

Back to reality ...

 Cape Canaveral Shuttle Launch tonight.

60% go

40% no go ....

precipitation, cumulus clouds and lightning within 5 nautical miles...

Discovery is launch ready ... 30 minutes and closing hatch ...

We are gonna have a launch and I'm gonna run outside buck naked and take pictures ...

The pictures all look the same ... it's always like an asteroid in reverse ...

My cats are all awake and anxious with me ...

12:17 AM and 50 seconds  August 25th, 2009

T Minus 20 minutes and holding ...

Torque is finished and hatch will be closed down for launch.

Aside, Dear Diary, I love all this sh ** it's wonderful to watch, every launch.

Final step on closing the hatch. Inspections are all done.

5 minutes remaining on this 10 minute hold.

"Arrrgghhh!"

Closeout crews are leaving the launch area ... 15 minutes and counting ...

13 minutes, helium purges from valves are cleared

12 minutes

11 minutes

Phase 2 lightning alert

Red for all atmospherics, possible launch site abort alert

10 minutes

9 minutes and holding, this hold may last 45 minutes.

"WTF!"

Weather conditions are the only  dangers with precipitation within 4 nautical miles.

 Rain is dousing Platform 39A.

No go for launch ... weather, water intrusion ... ceiling violation  ...

1:17 AM LOW PRESSURE HELIUM IS NOT A CONSTRAINT FOR LAUNCH.

8 minutes remaining on the 9 minute hold to launch with green on visibilities, so that is no longer a launch constraint ...

Aside, Dear Diary, I'm gonna get a lunch break ...

3 minutes to go on the 9 minute hold, we will have to scrub for today ...

24 hour scrub for today, 1:10 and 22 seconds AM EDT tomorrow.

Scrubbing our launch attempt for today.

$#**&#2MORE scrub $#@!!!

Thanks.
