Air travel has become a common mode of transportation nowadays. In earlier days the air travel tickets were considered very costly and people usually traveled by train or by road. It is the era of no frills airlines and people take airplanes from one destination to another instead of a train or a bus. Airlines have come up with lots of schemes and promotions which will market their airline and the maximum number of passengers will travel by their airline. We would like to share 5 different types of flights that people take at various circumstances of travel. Some may travel international or domestic.


One of the types of international travel is short haul journey. These last for less than 6 hours and give a passenger the basic benefits that are need in a short journey. One basic meal and some refreshments and drinks may be served.


It might be a short trip just crossing the border to the adjoining nation. These trips will provide for breakfast, lunch or dinner whichever meal falls during the trip. They also provide small benefits like drinks and refreshments besides the mail meal.


Long haul international trips last for more than 6 hours and sometimes go up to 20-25 hours as well. They of course have a stop over in some place in between, again depending on the airline.


These journeys provide for all the basic needs of the passenger and stop at in-between places for refueling or flight changing. International travel also includes journeys called around the world journeys. These may include trips from one country in the west to another in the east and then to Asia and back to the west or home country. Various countries are covered in these trips and visas are required for every country that the plane stops in and passengers disembark.


Domestic types of journeys are the ones which mostly everybody travels by. A domestic journey would include traveling within the country from one city to another for a holiday or a business purpose. These are cheap journeys and when booking is done in advance they become even cheaper.


You reach destinations in a matter of minutes or a couple of hours. These planes are small in size and the facilities on these journeys are not much as compared to international travel.


There are many flights you can board. There is a new concept of no frills airlines coming into fashion which is purely for domestic travel. These airlines do not serve any food or drink free of cost. The ticket rates are very cheap and you go on board the plane just to travel and not for the services. There are also the government and private plane journeys which some government staff ca and private plane owners take. These are occasional journeys and are not schedules like domestic or international journeys.
