This darn Diet Mood
Monday, March 3, 2008 | A Funny story
I am trying hard to follow Dr's orders and no food after 4 p.m. but darn this is painful. I hate having to cook for others and smell all those lovely smells from those bar-b-que ribs and know I can't have any of them, all I get is this darn SLIM FAST Milkshake, Whah Boo hoo, snibble, sob.  Got to loose this extra weight and the best solution to it is to crack jokes over it. I am the one who use to eat the house so I can blame no but myself.

    Hate this have to go to Seattle withone of the teens, hope this will be the last time for it surely uupsets her terribly to have to go through all she is having to deal with. Pray for us.

    I think no food after 4 pm is a little excessive. I have seen that after 6pm is accetable for trying to not gain weight. also did you know that diet sweeteners make you gain more weight? they do it indirectly. when you eat something made of REAL sugar or real carbs (which are just complex sugars)your body TASTES the sweet, or the calories, that are coming to it. when you eat real sugar the body gets the sweet it tastes and is satisfied. when you eat fake sugar, like sweeteners, your body tastes the sweet and thinks calories are coming to it. BUT since it is fake sugar no calories come and your body says HEY where's the calories? you promised me sweets! then because the body does not get the calories promised, it triggers your hunger reflex and makes you eat more. so ban all sweeteners and diet sodas for example. fruit juice is also bad. eat the real fruit. you still get the juice in it but the fiber of the fruit fills the stomach faster and you eat less calories that way. i have only water and milk for drinking and it has helped me level off my weight gain. i hope maybe this helps. if it doesn't make sense write back and maybe i can explain it better.

    I agree. No food after 4 p.m. is too early. 6 p.m. is more reasonable. And only drinking a slim fast on top of it? Your body is probably going into starvation mode and storing fat every evening. Drinking that sweet tasting Slim Fast is only going to make you hungrier! I really think you should ask your doctor to refer you to a dietician. Please tell me this doctor isn't a dietician!! If you can possibly afford Weight Watchers, please consider going there.
