Well I got the call . . .
for the first time ever I was looking forward to the call and not dreading it!
The nurse said they like to see it over 100 . . . and it was . . .
489!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She called it "a very reassuring number."
Today's beta was a day over my doc's usual timing (of 2 weeks after retrieval).
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I go back every two days for more bloodwork . . . to make sure it doubles.
Oh, and I feel like absolute crap too - YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
In all the excitement I forgot to ask how long until the first ultrasound, anyone know?
So . . . those sticks seem to actually work after all . . .

Holy cow Debbie!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the best news I've heard in ages! I'm so happy for you. You sound just like me, I also peed on at least a half a dozen sticks just to make sure. Oh wow, see I knew this would happen for you. All your hard work has finally paid off! Now the fun work begins :) That's a nice strong beta number too! Can't wait for your next results. Speaking from experience, "feeling like crap" is a good sign of multiples...just saying

YES!!!!! Strong number!! I know you have two in there!!! And I got my u/s at 6 weeks when we saw the heartbeat. It is an amazing experience! I am soooo happy for you!! (The sticks were NEVER wrong for me in 4 years of IF)

This is WONDERFUL news!!!!! I am so happy for you and just enjoy every minute of it!!! My first u/s was at 6 wks - we got to hear/see the heartbeat - you just think that pee stick will bring you to tears - wait until you see that little heartbeat - AMAZING!!! Congrats:)

Yay!!!! What a FANTASTIC number! I had my first U/S early - at 3 weeks - but mine was to confirm that it was a uterine pg, since we conceived the "natural" way. Can't wait until you hear that heartbeat...or heartbeats??? :) So happy for you!!!! Congrats!!! Enjoy the pukey feeling...it's so worth it!

I know the pukey feeling is no fun but in this case it is for a VERY good reason! I've never been pregnant (yet) but it seems that most first u/s are around 5 1/2-7 weeks. Can't wait to find out how many babies are growing in there!

Congrats! I agree with Lioness816...my first beta was 442 and at our first ultrasound we discovered twins. Our first ultrasound was about a week after my 2nd beta by the way.

Woo hoo! At my RE's clinic the first US is not until 7 weeks because before that you might not see a heartbeat. I know other clinics do it earlier but then it can cause grief. Hmm, I agree with nancy - could we see twins in your future!
