Close Asperger Syndrome
My 8 yr old son was Diagnosed with AS last June.It is a struggle with him, his behavior issues are the hardest on all of us. Meds were not very effective except the ADHD med.
Treatments
- Behavior Management Working / Worked
- Trying to find a system that works with his behavior issues.
Close Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
My 8 yr old son was diagnosed with AS, ADHD, and ODD last June. The worst of all three of these is the ODD.
Treatments
- Child Time-out Somewhat Helpful
- he hates time out it makes him even angrier for awhile then he will start to calm down.
- Effexor Not Working
- Didnt do a thing. No change at all, just a waste of money.
- Prozac Not Working
- too tearful..an emotional puddle
- Vyvanse Working / Worked
- This is a new drug just approved this past july. It is for ADHD and it is definately working...His teacher says it is like a 360 with him. and it also helps the behavior too. I think he needs a little higher dose but I am definetly happy with it.
Open ADHD / ADD
My 8year old son is diagnosed with AS, ADHD, ODD. He is starting on meds for the ADHD this weekend.
Treatments
- Vyvanse Working / Worked
- What a great drug!!! The teacher said it is like night and day from last year!!! Only problem with AS children on ADHD meds is it makes them focus on other things as well. Such as Nail chewing, picking at his skin..any little habits can become magnified.
Open Parenting Toddlers (1-3)
I am a mother of 4. 2 boys 8 and 6, and 2 girls 3 and 9 months.I love being a mom it has been the best part of my life hands down and the most precious gift i will ever have.I am still amazed at how each child is so different.
Open Breastfeeding
I am a 37 year old mother of 4. I have nursed all 4 of my children and I am still nursing my 4th and final baby. She is 15 months old and very much into her breastmilk.
Open Eczema
I have eczema on my hands and a couple spots on my knee and toes. It really just affects my hands and is embarrasing.
Treatments
- Elidel Too Soon to Tell
- Just started and hoping it helps.My fingers hurt so bad, I am desperate.
- Triamcinolone Topical Not Working
- Didnt help actually made it worse.
Open Obesity
I have had 4 kids in 8 yrs and that has packed on the pounds. I NEVER have been thin but I am at the heaviest I have ever been and very upset about it. 4 c-sections have not helped the belly either!!
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Somewhat Helpful
- cut out pork and red meat out of our diet, we mainly live on turkey products now.
- Breast Feeding Somewhat Helpful
- Still nursing my last baby, but I got news for ya, it dont make ya skinny!!
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Started walking 2 miles a day again. I have to do something, and I lost @50 pds 9 yrs ago, alot due to getting out and moving!!
- Weight Watchers Too Soon to Tell
- My mom and I are joining this Thursday, I hope we can both stick to it. My mom has gained a lot of weight also and now her health is compromised

- It isnt easy but we try very hard to be patient with him.
