  hi walkinthelight, i have read your post and just had to reply. i was were you are now. what you need to do is take some time to really think about this. i looked after my dad and 8 months after he was placed in the N.Home, mam was dignosed with AD. its a hard step to take, but at the very least think about it if you are not able for the stress of taking care of your mam. having looked after my mam and fought like mad to keep her at home and suceeded, i understand how you feel. but that struggle to keep mam at home has cost me dearly, not in relation to money, but mentally/emotionally. so just take your time and work through the pros and cons of this situation. i remember my mams phn saying once "your no good to your mam if you end up having a brakedown" so mind yourself and if you need a chat, i'll be here. your in my prayers.   I read your posting about your current situation and promise to your Mom. I respect your desire to give your Mom dignity. It's tough to be placed in the role of "god" in someone elses life. Give yourself the time you need.
