51 year old married grandmother with custody of twin granddaughters age 10. One has autism with intellectual disabilities. We have had the girls with us since they were 10 months old and even though sometimes its hard we would not be without them. I do a lot of craft and sewing and I love reading. I also love tracing my family history. I am a very ordinary person who tries to do the best I can in whatever I do and try.

My husband and i got guardianship when selina and her twin sister cass were 10 months old. Slina seemed to be developing normally but was a lot slower than her sister. at 12 months old she was diagnosed with global developmental delay then just before she was 2 our doctor said that he thought that she might have autism, so we had her assessed and yes she had severe autism, then we were told that she had intellectual disabilities as well.

- Early Intervention Somewhat Helpful
- lived to far away from centres so it was very hard but we did get some early intervention
- Occupational Therapy Too Soon to Tell
- had ot when she was younger and am just getting some more help now
