I am FLIPPING our right now...I went to the Dr.s today to get my MRI results & my whole world has been turned upside
down...I had an MRI in November of 06 & it showed ruptures, sponylothesis, bonespurs etc...A plethera of shit wrong with me...I had a STAT MRI done last week to see if I needed an emergency surgery, & they tell me today that there is really nothing wrong with me...WHAAAATTTT!!??!!They said that I have 4 pretty good bulges & 2 arterial tears but no more trauma!!!I have been having my meds increased BY THEM due to the MRI results from November & they were VERY worried about me...Today, they tell me that I have 2 options...I can either go to Stanford University & have a full day battery of tests with 6 different Dr.s to determine if they missed anything, OR they can just put me into DETOX right now & get me off ALL of my meds...What the fu** is going on!?!?!? I felt like a shit, they were treating me as if I have been using them just to get pain killers...I said, what the hell is happening? Last week you gave me MORE suckers & Morphine, & told me to expect surgery within the next 60 days, & now your telling me this!?!?!What the hell is happening...They said, well maybe all of the narcotics you are on is making your pain worse...WWWWHHHAAATTTT!?!?!?
I said if you knew that was a possibility, why in Gods precious name would you keep increasing my meds???WEll, we thought you needed them...PLEASE...Does anybody have any advice? My back hurts so fuc**** bad right now that I can't hardly sit here to type, but I HAD to talk to you guys...Your like my family...HELP ME PLEASE...I am scared to death...I will await ANY response you have...Thanx for caring...

My back doesn't show up well on MRI's When I had my first back surgery they went in for what they thought was a small but symptomatic that is why they decided to do surgery when they got in there it was 5-7 times the size they were expecting it had not only touched but displaced the nerve root that feeds my right leg. There also was a central bulge that they didn't even see. The only other option would be a very painful procedure called a discogram, but this didn't show much more of my bulge. Good luck Since you are still in pain I would recommend a second opinion or the in depth study you mentioned in the article.

Shell, I wouldn't let one MRI change everything. Unless you have had 2with the same results, I would be getting a second opinion. Go to the indepth study and allow them to really see what is going on. Whatever is causing your pain may not show up on an MRI. My opinion is to always get a second opinion. I have had at least 5 with my abdomen pain. The hardest part is that they all say the same, nothing can be done to fix it. Shell angel--go do the second opinion thing. You owe it to yourself and your family to make sure you know what is going on.

I dont know what you should do.im sorry i wish i could help.i think you should go for the tests and see if theycan do anything and that will also show your doctors that your trying not just"using"as they see it.what the fuck doctors suck! i have had to change doctors a few times already because of the same thing.them doing nothing except uping my meds and then saying im a junkie and sending me away with no help.i wish i could do something for you.but i am here if you just need to scream!
