Yes,,,I am adding you as my friend :) xoxo
Hug
Huge hug back.....I am a very anxious type person too. I am stressed out constantly and even when trying to relax, I cannot......My mind races and I cant shut it off. I would give anything to be able to RELAX. I honestly dont know what that is like...I dont have much time to relax since I have a toddler but I know that my stress and anxiety exacerbates my diseases. I am my own worst enemy. Together, maybe we can help eachother! Do you know that even when I sleep I am not relaxed as I have night mares every single night :( I hope you can relax Malena....You will be so much better off (as would I). XOXOX

Hope these flowers cheer you up.

Hi Malena,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my journal entry and to respond to it. Also, thank you for showing me that I'm not alone with my struggle with IC and running into such awful doctors. You are so right, you went through the exact same experience as I did. Like your previous doctor, mine just wanted the money for doing these nerve blocks and basically made me feel like a drug addict for wanting to be put on a regulated amount of pain killers every month. I too only have one pharmacy and do not take drugs, only the prescriptions that he gave me, that's it. I went through the horror of a urine test, even though I didn't have to, just to show that jerk that I'm not taking any drugs. I filed a discrimination complaint against the doctor today and the Patient Advocate there is going to start an investigation and will let me know the results. I'm so angry that I'm also going to file a complaint with the Medical Board of Wisconsin and my husband suggested that maybe I contact the news regarding this doctor, only because he's positive that there are other patients like me out there who have dealt with this jerk of a doctor. My appt. was 2 days ago but I'm still so very angry and trying to relax because you know that stress causes worse pain in the bladder. Did you find a doctor who can regulate your medication for you? I'm so sorry that you went through the same thing as me. No patient should ever have to go through this. I have an appt. with my regular doctor this week to tell him what happened. I checked myself into the pain clinic to explore further options to manage the pain last month but I don't think I'll ever return to another pain clinic again. I'm hoping my regular doctor can regulate my meds for me on a monthly basis until I can find a better treatment. Sorry to babble, thank you so much for listening. Please keep me posted on if you have a new doctor and how things are going for you. Thank you again for being here and for responding to my message. Take care and have a great week. :)
Laura

Close Fibromyalgia
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1996. Recently, I have found it extremely difficult to manage.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Not Working
- I take it for depression. My dr. thought it might help my FM symptoms, too. Unfortunately, it doesn't.
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- Heat helps but relief is minimal.
- Neurontin Somewhat Helpful
- I've been taking Neurontin for many years now. It helps somewhat with my symptoms.
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- I use it when my pain is severe and helps but the relief doesn't last very long
Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
I was diagnosed with IC in 1991. I have probably tried everything out there at some time or another. I have my ups and downs. For me, it's mostly a pain issue more than a frequency issue.
Treatments
- Bladder Distention Working / Worked
- I've had several over the years. It helps for a short time.
- Bladder Instillation Working / Worked
- I've had several bladder instillations of DMSO. They worked for a short time. My family couldn't stand how I smelled afterwards.
- Elmiron Working / Worked
- I took it for many months but didn't like the side effect of my hair falling out so I stopped.
- Pyridium Not Working
- It didn't help me.
Open Migraine Headaches
I get migraine headaches frequently.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- I have to stay away from chocolate and fatty foods
- Imitrex Working / Worked
- It works well, but makes me very sleepy
- Excedrin Working / Worked
- If taken on the onset it works well...the only negative is it gives me diarrhea.
Open Back Pain
I was diagnosed with spondylotic disc bulging in several places in the cervical spine and lumbar spine. Also, degenerative thoracic spondylosis.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful
- I found it helped, but the insurance company only paid for a few visits not enough to make a big improvement.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- It helps a lot but I have to take it on the onset of the back pain. It's the only thing that helps me manage my pain.
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- I found the physical therapy to be helpful. Unfortunately the insurance company does not pay for very man visits in a year.
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
Open Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
I've had symptoms for several months now. I suspected it was IBS. I got diagnosed yesterday. I also have Fibromyalgia and Interstitial Cystitis.
Treatments
- Lomotil Working / Worked
Open Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel a few years ago. I noticed my right wrist would hurt and when I would hold my telephone up to my ear my right hand would go numb.
Treatments
- Wrist Splint Working / Worked
- Wearing a wrist splint at night or when I'm having pain seems to help.
Open Arthritis
Treatments
- Voltaren Too Soon to Tell
- I just started taking Voltaren. I hope it gives me some relief. It's too soon to tell. I have arthritis in my spine (very bad), my right hip, my feet and my hands. Some days it is difficult to walk and must use my cane. I also have fibromyalgia which affects my muscles so I feel I have a "double whammy".
Open Gout
I've been having pain in my feet off and on now for 1 yr. I never knew what it was. The last couple of months I have had major attacks. First the left foot and now (for the first time) the right. My foot is super swollen and tender and I have to use crutches to get around.
Treatments
- Allopurinol Too Soon to Tell
- Cherries Too Soon to Tell
- Colchicine Not Working
- I have a sensitive stomach. This med makes me have nausea and vomiting.
Open Anxiety Disorders in Children
My 15 yr old daughter has been diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety and School Phobia.

- It helped my daughter somewhat but we changed the meds due to excessive weight gain.
- Lexapro Too Soon to Tell
- BuSpar Too Soon to Tell
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Too Soon to Tell
Open Asperger Syndrome
My 23-yr old daughter has been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. I also have a 15-yr old daughter who is exhibiting the same symptoms as her sister. However, she has not yet been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome.

Open Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety
My 15 & 23 yr old daughters face agoraphobia & social anxiety challenges. As their mother, I would like to educate myself and learn from others how to best help them.
