What a hard week Mood
Friday, August 8, 2008 | A Frustrating story

This past week and a half has not been the best.  We had to take our dog for his yearly check up to the vet last week.  They did the normal stuff and through one of the tests found a trace of lymes disease.  They started him on antibotic.  Well since that point he has been sick.  We came home Friday to him having thrown up all over one room and then when we took him out for a walk having diarea.  We took him off the meds and on Sunday had him at the animal hospital because he threw up blood.  They gave him somthing to keep him from throwing up and gave him fluids under his skin.  They think since he was throwing up so much he popped a vessel...they were not concerned.  Well since then we have had our good days and bad days.  After a week he is still fighting diarrea.  We went to the vet on Wedensday and he had to get a blood screening and they put  him on something to help that and then an antibotic in case he has an infection in his intestines and an antibotic for the lymes so that does not get worse.

HE WAS FINE BEFORE I TOOK HIM TO THE VETS.  YES THIS IS WHERE I START BLAMING MYSELF.  I know he needed the yearly check-up but if we would not have gone then he would not have caught whatever he caught.   Now it is sit and wait for the test results

You know you did the right thing. I doubt that he caught it at the vet. You will have to check him daily for ticks. He's just sensitive to antibiotics. Ask your vet about charcol to settle the stomach. Or acidophillis (it's in yogurt) Natural stuff that might sooth. You could also ask about giving him a small amount of Pepto Bismol. Be positive and know he'll be okay.
    Love and hugs.
