LOL ... youre welcome on the support i have recieved so much myself i cannot begin to explain how happy i am that my friend told me about this site!! Close Chronic Pain
I had some left posterior hip pain,radiating pain down both legs. Went to orthopedist and had x-rays. Result: Severe DDD in L4/L5,L5/S1 no disc left. I let them do an ESI and the anesthesiologist didn't do it under fluoroscopy. I had read that all should be. I had no pain for several hours due to injected meds., but the next day I had severe, unrelenting pain still. Had all treatments available, no help Won't do surgery, not a candidate severe arthritic changes in spine Went on disabil.
Treatments
- Acupuncture Not Working
- Had 3 sessions No help Massage felt good but effects did not last
- TENS Not Working
- Gave some relief but then became noxious stimulus and had to discontinue
Close Back Pain
herniated discs L2-L3,L3-L4 1978 2002: Left posterior hip pain. MRI: near complete obliteration L5/Sl disc, osteophytes at end plates, severe DDD L5/S1 with L2/3/S1 radiculopathy bilaterally. Also mild herniation L3/L4/L5 not intruding on thecal sac. Jan 2003: Steroid Epidural with resulting severe pain radiating from L5/S1 down legs to feet, burning, stabbing pain not had before. Pain continues after 3years.
Treatments
- Acupuncture Working / Worked
- helped first time, then nothing for next 2. Stopped then.
- Epidural Injection Working / Worked
- not working Not done under fluoroscopy Was told, "We don't do that anymore." Horrible, stinging, stabbing, burning pain radiating down legs from back
- Fentanyl Working / Worked
- couldn't use and work, per MD
Open Aneurysms
I was having an MRI for my low back pain when the orthopedic surgeon told me that it showed an abdominal aortic aneurysm. I was floored. Dad had one and had it fixed after it leaked and almost killed him. I am checked once a year by a surgeon and once by a cardiologist.
