For several years I was misdiagnosed. In July 2006 I finally received the news that I had advanced Cirrhosis and would need a transplant. The culprit was Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis, the most severe form of Fatty Liver Disease. In January of 2007 I received my liver transplant at MUSC in South Carolina. I have done wonderfully after transplant and will be returning to college to finish my BS in Nursing this Fall. Previously I was a scrub nurse specializing in Trauma and Orthopedics.
