This week I was given a written warning about my “inability to accommodate the customer”.
I have been told the next time I “screw up” I will be suspended or fired. My boss said the last time I failed to do my job was a reference to something that has happened over a year and a half ago. “It’s not like you really have any security work to do all night. Real security sits and watches monitors.” Says my boss.
I am having some real trouble dealing with these people, the guests and what they need, that’s fine, I understand that but the people that I work with… are certifiable. Last week a woman, who had been drink hard drinks very fast all night with her boyfriend, fell and hit her head. There was blood everywhere a large gash on the woman’s head.
Now I don’t know about you but my first impression is CALL AN AMBULENCE! Well I would have been wrong. They didn’t want to call for an ambience; they wanted to drive themselves to the hospital. They were from upstate New York, never been here before, drunk and bleeding. Yes of course, drive yourself, by all means, please, don’t let us file a report, fine, fine.The new night audit, who by the way is training to be a nurse, wouldn’t help and refused to call for help. But over all she’s pretty useless for most things. She’s rude to the guests, sleeps most of her shift, and hates technology. When I need help like calling the police she refuses and actually walks away. She leaves the desk unattended, for long spans of time during the night.
Several times I’ve walked the halls to find police dealing with a problem, that she never called to tell me about. She tells the MOD in the morning about all these things that I should have been able to have taken care of but she never told me so I didn’t do anything about it. She tells me a lot that they don’t need me at the hotel that she can do my job and hers. We don’t get along.
A couple weeks ago I was wicked sick, I threw up 3 or 4 times a day for nearly 2 weeks, it sucked. I’ve started cleaning out my attic, you have no idea how fun that is, and I mean I’m actually enjoying it. There’s a lot of guano and rat poop, but I’ve got mask and gloves.
It’s a huge attic, ill post pics in a while. I hope to have it cleaned up so I can use it to use my telescope from. I’ve got nearly ½ of it cleaned now. Yay.
