Winter called yesterday afternoon to let me know she wouldn't be out. For some reason they had to shut their hot water off at 1pm and didn't get it back on til 4 pm so there were all the dishes from lunch needing to be done and dinner to get out, then of course dinner dishes to do. Then to add to the fun the entire kitchen needed to be inventoried, that has to be done and turned in by end of day today. That girl just can't seem to catch a break.
During our converstation she asked if she could borrow my weed eater and lawn mower, guess the grass is getting REALLY high around the cabin and she is freaked about walking around in it when she knows there is at least one black bear in the area. I've been up to the cabin and I can't even begin to imagine trying to do that area wiht a lawn mower, it is so darn steep. Maybe a bit around the cabin but only after that had been cut down with the weed eater. Mowers don't like grass that's over four feet high. Heck it was giving me fits last night (yes I went out after dinner and mowed for an hour or so) and the grass I was going through was less then two feet high. She said she didn't want to do that whole big area wiht the weed eater, I told her I used to do all ours with it and she said I'm a crack head, had to be cuz no normal person would do all that work, so who ever said I was normal?
It is not nearly as warm today, clouds have moved in but according to the weather people they should start breaking up this afternoon and it should be nice again. I hope so, really want to finish that mowing. I got eight passes out the grass drive and only need a couple more then it will be all weed eater work. Right now the grass is to wet to mow, that dew doesn't go away without some wind or sun help. I did get the chicken coop cleaned out this morning and raked up a bunch of the grass I cut yesterday and put that in for them. It's got a good mix of grass, fireweed, ferns, chickweed and other goodies they don't get to see normaly. They seemed excieted by the whole thing.
Right now Neal is still sleeping, the dogs and cats are all saked out and a bunch of Sandhill Cranes are out in the muskeg making a racket, only other noise is those darn cockatiels, boy are they noisey birds. Last time I only had one and Patrick was much quieter, well she was also right by us most of the time and got to watch movies and listen to me read books to Neal. We didn't have nearly as many cats in those days and no dogs, quieter world all around I guess.

lol@ all your noisy furbabies and cockatiels!! understand the mowing, though have only a tiny patch compared to yours. I have a wild patch at the bottom that started with just having too much grass to cut that had got too long!!! Some grasses around 5 ft high, under two trees. I like it, though, I can pretend there is NOT a motorway just at the back! Winter sounds as though she is working just tooo hard! hugnluv CATXX
