Hi, it's Kathy. I don't know if you remember me, but I was gone for a long time. I've missed you and all the great people here. It's good to be back. I hope you've been feeling well. I'll read your journals. I always hug before I read journals which makes for an uninformed greeting! Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say 'hello'. Have a great weekend.

Thanks for your concern, over the weekend we talked and yelled and said horrible things but we will work things out. He says he will be here more for us and then I will compromise with his Church. This was very scary, I truly thought things would have ended. My heart was breaking at the thought. I feel better and so does he. I will never forget but forgiveness, I can do!!! Thanks for being there!! HUGS HUGS HUGS!!!!!!!!!

    • Close Sciatica

My sciatica began 8 years ago as a result of inappropraite P.T. The pain, from my sit-bones down both legs to my toes, was severe, unrelenting, 24/7. I couldn't sit, and because of chronic foot pain previous to this, couldn't be on my feet.I had to lay down most of the time, which caused severe TMJD. I saw numerous docs before finding one that put me on Neurontin. Narcotics and other meds didn't help, but this one did.

      Treatments

      Neurontin Somewhat Helpful
This gave me major relief, but is now losing effectiveness. Neurontin should be started at the smallest possible dose, gradually titrating to the dose that gives relief. For me, it was, 3,900mg. a day. Although I was told by an M.D. I could go up to 4,800, my doc won't go higher than my current dose.
      Stretching Somewhat Helpful
Stretching gives only some relief, because my tissues are so distorted from long-standing chronic, treatment resistant myofascial trigger points.
    • Close Chronic Pain

I've been a veteran of chronic pain for 23 years. My diagnoses include tendonitis, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic tension headaches, foot neuromas, plantar fasciitis, and osteoporosis. I'm a cancer survivor. BCP(before chronic pain) I had a successful career as an artist.

      Treatments

      Acupressure Somewhat Helpful
      Helps somewhat for muscle pain.
      Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
      Cymbalta Considering
      Heat Working / Worked
Hot shower twice a day for muscle pain.
      Hydrocodone Not Working
      Meditation Working / Worked
      Mobic Not Working
      Neurontin Working / Worked
This was a miracle drug for the nerve pain. Didn't notice relief until I titrated to higher doses. I was almost 100% pain free from sciatica, but the nerve pain has been coming back since Christmas 2007.
      Oxycodone Considering
      Physical Therapy Not Working
      TENS Not Working
    • Open Fibromyalgia

Dx'd w/FMS in 1994, MPS (or CMP) in 2000, but believe it started in 1985. My journey has been a long and twisting one-too much to describe here, but I've tried a lot of things.

      Treatments

      5-HTP Not Working
      Acupuncture Not Working
      Aqua Therapy Not Working
Made the Chronic Myofascial Pain much, much worse.
      Cyclobenzaprine Somewhat Helpful
      Only works short term.
      Elavil Somewhat Helpful
Helped short term to lessen headaches, but not enough to make a difference.
      Neurontin Working / Worked
Life and death difference. Sciatica was so bad, 24/7, I was an invalid and contemplating suicide. Neurontin gives almost 100% relief of nerve pain.
      CranioSacral Therapy Not Working
Tried many sessions; didn't hurt but didn't help.
    • Open Rosacea

      Dx'd w/rosacia about a month ago.

      Treatments

      Noritate Too Soon to Tell
    • Open Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

      CTS since 2005

      Treatments

      Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
      Ibuprofen Not Working
      Wrist Splint Somewhat Helpful
    • Open Dry Eyes

      Treatments

      Restasis Working / Worked
just started--my eyes recently watered on their own for the first time in months.
    • Open Myofascial Pain Syndrome

I had MPS--now called CMP--decades B4 getting the dx. By the time I got a dx, this disease had been chronic for years and had spread bodywide. B/c of this, my tissues have deformed my anatomy to the point my body itself has become a major perpetuating factor.
