I consider myself to be a very smart, capable, compassionate person that has been taken over by depression. Now I'm trying to get my life back. Interests
I really love listening to music and singing. It makes me forget, if only for a moment, how horrible I feel most of the time. There is even this program we have in my town called "Lakeshore's Rising Stars." It's like our little small-town version of American Idol and I've been trying to gather up the courage to audition! I need all the hugs I can get!

hey hun, yeah i had ear problems when i was little to the point where my temples were sticking out the side of my head which resulted in tubes being put in when i was four. they did it the same time i was under having my tonsils removed. i am hoping brayden doesnt have that same problem. i got his pictures. i will send one out for you in the mail once i have decided which family members get what ect.

Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI really don't have depression. I have bipolar disorder type 2 which means that I'm depressed more than I am manic, but I'm still learning about the disorder because I was just recently diagnosed.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- I just started seeing a different therapist that I "click" with, so I need some time to work with him to progress in my recovery.
- Biaxin Working / Worked
- I have just started on this medication in conjunction with Cymbalta. This med is actually for seizures, but it is also a mood stabilizer.
- Electroconvulsive therapy Working / Worked
- It has done WONDERS for me! I'm finally happy for the first time in YEARS!!!! I have some short-term memory loss, but for me it's totally worth it! I would recommend it to anyone that meds have not worked for.
Close Cerebral Palsy
My son Jonah had a brain hemorrhage shortly after birth, resulting in his cerebreal palsy. He also has a seizure disorder and a visual impairment. But, he is the love of my life! I've been blessed with a special child :) There are many special things that we do for, and with, him that are too numerous to list in the "treatments" section, so I just included his medications :)
Treatments
- Topamax Working / Worked
- We started Jonah on this med when he presented with his first visible seizure at age 2. He has steadily needed his dosage increased as he increased in size. He is now 5.
- Keppra Working / Worked
- We recently added Keppra to Jonah's regimen to keep his seizures under control. He has only had 2 seizures in the last 10 months.
Open Bipolar Disorder
I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Now all my behavior for the last 10 years makes sense! But now comes the odyssy of finding the right combination of meds. Fun, fun....I also have borderline personality disorder.
Treatments
- Abilify Working / Worked
- It's at least keeping me from crying all the time, but it's hell on my stomach. But now I'm taking Prilosec and it helps A LOT! So I'm doing well on the Abilify.
Open Anxiety
I finally got through to my doctor and she gave me a medication for my anxiety. Thank God! It's working a little, but I want to give it time..........But my mind still won't shut off, especially when I'm trying to sleep, of course. :)
Treatments
- Breathing Exercises Working / Worked
- Just started deep breathing and meditation. Wonderful!
- Klonopin Working / Worked
- Helping, but still waiting......just started taking it.
