Hi! My name is Karen. I have a daughter who 7yrs old with DS. If you are on my friends list than I can invite you to the eight plus downs group. It's the only way I know how to get you the link that will take you there. I'm not too computer savvy. I hope you join. I want to let you know that we mostly have teens and preteens on there, but you're more than welcomed. We could learn alot from you I'm sure.

I was told by a family Dr. that yrs. ago people with DS had a shorter life expectancy but that is no longer the case. My husbands cousin who is in her late 60's has Alzheimers now but up until a year ago had been doing very well.

When Olivia was born they told me at the hospital that DS babies can live way into their late 50's, reading what you put seems scarey, think terri right, it must depend on their health and 46 in a very positive age to hear about, thats a good age which makes me feel proud that Olivia will have a good long life too.
