Currently working as an accountant at Merrill Lynch. Love the work, love the benefits. I am also going to school to finish my English degree at Rutgers University so that I can maybe do some teaching some day. I have an amazing son, and he's the driving force behind everything I do.

Film (I studied it in college), reading, live music, baseball, spending time with friends, cooking, knitting. I love playing sports but rarely get the opportunity or have the energy. I was a swim coach and instructor for many years (up until last year actually, I had to quit because I was exhausted.)

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSI was diagnosed at age 24. Almost exactly a year after my son was born. I was actually shaving my legs in a very hot shower when I noticed numbness in my leg. It felt like my foot had fallen asleep, but this time it wasn't "waking up". I sort of ignored that first sign and just went about my life. About 2 weeks later after more numbness and a trip to the ER, an MRI confirmed that I had MS. It was the most horrible day of my life.
Treatments
- Avonex Not Working
- The needle is enormous, and I had such horrible skin atrophy that it looked like my legs were dented. As my MS got worse a different medication was needed.
- Copaxone Working / Worked
- This was much better than the Avonex, but I was only on it a short time. I had difficulty with the frequency of the injections.
- Rebif Working / Worked
- Truthfully, I am supposed to be on this right now and I haven't taken it in months. I don't know wny... I don't want to be sick but I just don't take it...
- Solumedrol Working / Worked
- This sucked. I had a thing coming out of my arm for a week and all it did was make me anxious.
