I'm the mom of 4 great daughters. I have been struggling with PTSD for awhile but more so now that I have started EMDR therapy. I have been assaulted by a barrage of memories that my mind has blocked since I was a child. EMDR is working but its a rough go of it right now.

Iwould like to know a little or whatever you want to share about your story, i'm struggling with PTSD and some memories but some blocked memories with symptoms of severe PTSD, also i relate to you about your family seeming "outstanding" but they are sooooooo messed up.
My family refuses to see any wrong doing when they done SO much wrong is not even funny.

Issues stem from rape, abuse, homelessness, severe psychiatric trauma. I have recently realized through EMDR therapy that I was sexually abused-assaulted really- as a small child. Almost my entire life has been based upon lies because my mind blocked out so much of the garbage from when I was small.

- It worked more for the stress relief than for the PTSD.

- I didnt actually realize this was considered to be therapy though I know it has therapeutic effect.

- Made me sleep enough that I felt better . The sleepy effect wore off after about a week. I felt Ok on it.

I have been told by my doc that I'm on stress overload. He said that if I do not reduce my stress level that I could be dead within a yr. He prescribed an anti depressant to reduce the effects of the stress on my heart.
