Oh, you are from China. I didn't realize that. I am a scientist in Chicago and have a lot of Chinese co-workers including one who has become a close friend. He is from Chengdu. Perhaps you can apply to a school in a different country, like the USA? My Chinese friend went to graduate school in the USA. There are many Chinese people in the Chicago area. There are also many Chinese in New York and on the West Coast, especially California. (I would go to San Francisco if I had a fresh start in life.) There are always alternatives.

you have to take care of your medical condition first. Do that however you can. If it means your Mom, than take a chance. Wouldn't the university have health offices for the students? good luck. Ihope things turn around for you.
