diagnosed at age 20, was on several cream and light treatments until age 25. Psoriasis was at 80% of my body was put on raptiva, worked great for 5 years then had massive reaction. Spent 2 years recovering then put on Enbrel...had major infection within 1 year, in and out of hospital for over a year. Now, psoriasis is coming back and unsure of what treatment to seek...warned to stay away from immunosuppresants.

Betamethasone (Topical) Somewhat Helpful

As long as it's applied - it worked

Coal Tar Not Working

Did not work, stunk

Cyclosporine Somewhat Helpful

As long as it's applied - it worked

Dermarest Not Working

did not work

Enbrel Working / Worked

worked but suppressed immune system too much and ended up hospitalized with MAJOR infection (septic)

Methotrexate Working / Worked

worked but made me sick and had sexual side effects

Phototherapy Somewhat Helpful

Expensive, did not make major difference.

Raptiva Working / Worked

worked great for 5 years then had massive reaction and flared up to 90% of my skin covered. Took 2 years to recover
