I am 34 years old, married for 9 of 'em and together with my wife we have a 4 year old daughter. Currently i am off work due to my various mental issues but i am hopeful that a full recovery is coming sooner rather than later.

I enjoy watching and collecting movies, sketching and painting, reading and playing "casual" computer games like Bejeweled Twist, Zuma's Revenge, Slingo...stuff like that.

Close ADHD / ADD
Looking for supportive friends, hoping to support others and seeking as much info as possible about ADHD.
Treatments
- Adderall Working / Worked
- Working very well...much "smoother" than Ritalin was for me. Lost a bit of weight on it which was an unexpected plus for me. Also feel like it helps with depression a little.
- Ritalin Working / Worked
- First med i tried, worked well but taking the immediate release form soon became an exercise in frustration. Too many peaks and valleys when the med would kick in and then taper off.
Close Bipolar Disorder
This disorder is a beast and has nearly ruined my life. Hoping to gain supportive friends who i can in turn support. Also constantly seeking new info about my condition.
Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- I used to take this, may be getting prescription renewed soon. For those times that you are going out of your mind and the anxiety/stress is too much, just slip one of these babies under your tongue and almost immediate relief. I have a small dose (.5 mg, twice a day only as needed) and i rarely use them.
- Depakote Working / Worked
- Works very well for me and the only side effect i had was weight gain which did stop after a month or two (taking 250mg, three times a day.)
- Risperdal Working / Worked
- This works wonders even at my small dose of .5mg twice a day. Again, weight gain is the biggest side effect which for me did taper off eventually. I have the option to take a 1mg dose when needed instead of the .5 and 1mg pill stops my mania/hypomania immediately! :)
