I love the fact that J wants to "do his own thing" and be in charge of making certain decisions for himself however, he won't.  …

hi, i read your hug post to another member, and wanted to say that i can empathize with you. i have 2, girl 15, boy 14. my 14 yr. old is in counseling, depression i believe, anger issues always due to divorce.

must be hard for boys to seperate from their mothers, with all that macho crap out there. he is brutal to me, but unlike hissister, will say in a jokin tome, i'm sorry mom and give me a hug and then wrestle with me, so at least he feels SOME remorse, unlikde his sis. maybe a little kinder. i hope thay your guy has his kinder moments still and that you can be strong.

We are on a same journey. My son has a psychiatric appointment tomorrow. My son says the same things to me. Let's hold each other up in prayer.

I know it's hard. My son used to just goto his room and not come out for 3 days when I tried to discipline him. Are you getting any help? We had alot of help (we sent him away) and things were so much better, until this latest episode of depression.
I think its very positive though that you can end the evening with apologies.

My 15 year old Son tried to commit suicide just this past March 09. His Father is in another state and doesn't involve himself. Fortunately, the suicide attempt didn't take and we've been on the road to recovery ever since. Unfortunately, the road is very rocky and last night he was physically and verbally abusive to me. I've been crying on and off all day and i'm so worried for him. He's seeing a Psychiatrist regularly and is on medication for Severe Depression w/Psychotic features.
