My kids are going to drive me to insanity Mood
Monday, November 9, 2009 | A Funny story

or keep me from it. I haven't decided yet.

Tonight while I was making dinner, Jane, she is 6, was sitting in the dryer. I told her that probably wasn't the best place to sit, especially since she has 10 and 9 year old brothers. I was teasing her and telling her that her blond was showing. She is blond and when she does silly things we call her blondie.

We never call our kids by their names. One of my friends teased me once and said she doesn't know why we even bother to name them.

Emaline was always muffin when she was little. Or Emmabean. Melamine. Lemonlime.

Kate was PotatoKate. Taterbug or Taterbutt. She's 11 now and is too old for nicknames so she says.

Kenny has always been Brown. I still call him Brown and so does Emaline. When he was a baby he had a big round head like Charlie Brown. He also got all of his teeth by 6 months so we called him Chompy Brown. That got shortened to Brown.  When Kate was little she couldn't say Chompy so she called him Conky. She still does sometimes. :)

Max used to be Hobbit. He is 13 months younger than Brown and where Brown was always in the 90th percentile, Max was at 50. So he looked so much smaller. Hobbit got changed to Wobbit. Sometimes he was Maximal Wobbit. His initials are MAD so he gets called Mad Max by his dad. I call him my Dumplin sometimes or my Dumpy Doodle. Dumpins.

Natalie used to be called Puddin a lot. Or Monkey Puddin. Noodley.

Jane is Blondie. Chicken Jane, she loves all things ducks and chickens. Jane-A-Rito. Gosh I forgot one of Jane's. She was really sick last October, in 2008. She had a cold, the same one all of us did. But she wasn't getting better. I kept her home from school because she had a nose bleed in the morning. By about noon she was covered in huge nasty bruises. We took her to the er and they of course were thinking leukemia. After lots of nervous testing she had ITP. Which of course my Jane couldn't be easy and respond to the first or second thing they tried to get her non existent platelet count up. She was in the hospital nearly a week. Anyway, a few days after she got home we noticed she brought home guests. She had lice! So we call her Cootie. Still do at times. Luckily she doesn't get upset and knows we are calling her that affectionately.

Clara is Woney. When she was about two and would get mad she would go sit by herself and say wone, for leave me alone. So I call her Woney most of the time. Lately we call her Posey or Baby Posey.

Eleanore was Nort Nor, that is what Clara called her.

Those are sweet pet names. Charlie calls me Chicken. I called Max all kinds of things including lolly, doodle bug, maxi, lil mon and moon pie.
