      I needed help coping with my divorce... I reached rock bottom and Every experience has a process....and although I'm working it through... I sometimes feel like I'm the only person who's going through this and it's not like I talk to many people about my feelings toward it. I thought this would be a good place to share and listen to others going through similar circumstances.

      Treatments

      Couples Counseling Working / Worked
      I had 6months counseling....alone. He would never go with me. (Indication that the marriage was already over for him.) I was able to heal through the counseling and learned how to let go of the marriage(he had an affair that lasted over a year).... very difficult.
      Forgiveness Working / Worked
      It took some time and patience. I had to forgive him and his girlfriend. I also had to forgive myself for not noticing the signs that the marriage was failing.
      Leave Working / Worked
      taking alot of walks and going hiking; being in nature works well for me.
      Love Working / Worked
      I had to gain self love and learn to take really good care of myself. I have to remember to eat, sleep, not think, think and tell others I appreciate them.
      Music Working / Worked
      I carry my mp3. I put a variety of music there; and some instrumental for unwinding. I have sleep issues so music helped to clear my mind.
      Reading Working / Worked
      Reading and writing have been my mini escapes.
      Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
      it's been hard to share thoughts and feelings; but going out sometimes and just not thinking about things works.
      Talking Working / Worked
      I have a habit of holding feelings in...that doesn't help. Venting kind of helps but then I'd feel bad afterwards. sitting down and being able to really feel things and talking them out in a postitive and sincere manner is working.
      Time Working / Worked
      I filled my calandar; staying busy helps alot. Doing things alone also helped.
    • Close Abstinence & Celibacy

      I made the decision to wait for real love/ and marriage.

    • Open Healthy Relationships
