Close Anxiety
Treatments
- Breathwork Working / Worked
- Inhaling through the nose, pausing and exhaling through the mouth can slow down your heart rate and calm you instantly. As soon as my body gives me any trigger signs (heavy limbs or dizziness) that might suggest anxiety, I begin to practice deep breathing.
- Klonopin Considering
- I have a prescription, but I have not started it yet. I am apprehensive with new medicine.
- Lexapro Not Working
- This drug did nothing for me and it was complete hell. I was at my worst on this medicine and I would not recommend it to anyone. I don't understand why a doctor would prescribe a patient with anxiety with medicine that may cause anxiety for about six weeks before results. I refuse to take Lexapro.
- Meditation Too Soon to Tell
- I need to practice more.
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- Visualization has helped. For instance, before I go to bed I will visualize a shelf where I put all of my worries or things that I think might wake me up and I imagine turning off a light over them so they go to sleep when I do.
- Xanax Working / Worked
- Xanax is great for when you feel something coming on and deep breathing has not helped or when you are already in the middle of an attack. I remember one experience when I was crying from panic, took a xanax and about 20 minutes later, I instantly stopped crying and fell asleep. I try to take Xanax as little as possible though because benzodiazepines are a high risk drug for dependency.
- Yoga Working / Worked
- Yoga really helps with stress release deep breathing and meditation.
