Oh I'm so glad, I feel your frustration, I'm going through a lot of it myself. Laugh in case you didn't notice, i'm very anti-doctors right at the moment. I've been trying to get pregnant for over a year and a half and it's been hell. I'm single and going to a clinic, and I've been so frustrated by them. Finally they decided to put me on fertility drugs and i was told that because of my age and the fact that I haven't been able to get pregnant yet, that we would stimulate 3-4 eggs to increase the chances and too correct my luteal phase defect. Well i was inseminated on Wedneday and after the procedure i found out that i only had one egg. I was so upset, i went home and did some thinking and phoned the clinic back and started asking questions, turns out last month i only had one egg as well, which is why my LP was too short again. And i went online and discovered that the amount of Menopur they prescribed for me, is a very low dose, so i wasted my money and time this month and last month and I'm waiting to talk to the doctor to find out why they didn't prescribe more so that i would have more eggs, especially since i had specifically asked how we were going to address the LP defect and was told that that would be taken care of by having multiple eggs. So I'm a little cynical about doctors right at the moment, think most of them are totally useless and have very little respect for the tradtional medical community. That might change in the future, but i doubt it laugh. Anyways, sorry to rant, I'm really glad that my previous note helped. I didn't know if you had ever heard of insulin resistance, i hadn't until I started trying to get pregnant and when i started doing research i discovered it, and it explained my body type perfectly, since it was new too me I'm never sure who has heard of it or not so I'm telling everyone laugh, cause too many people don't know about it. Take care.
Dear new2pcos, You're right it's not just your weight, unfortunately there are just way too many doctors out there who really don't know what they're doing or who don't care. I don't know how much weight you have to lose, but all of my life i've been overweight, and it's amazing how many people feel that if you're overweight that any health problem you have is because of that. I found out that I'm insulin resistant and that's why i could never lose any weight. If you can find another doctor, I would suggest that, because the one you have is an idiot. Try to find a doctor of traditional chinese medicine who does acupuncture. It helps tremendously with PCOS and insulin resistance, which is part of PCOS. Hope this helps a bit, take care!
I am frustrated with trying to find out what is wrong with me. I have found that I have most of the PCOS symptoms but have yet to be diagnosed or find a doctor to help. Just looking for support to know that I am not alone.
I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 3/09. Just trying to figure everything out...
I am 30 years old and have been overweight all of my life. I have tried & tried to lose weight unsuccessfully. I was recently dx with PCOS and am on medication that will help my insulin resistance and will allow me to lose weight now!
To get support from others who understand me.
