    • Close Panic Attacks

      I have been suffering from anxiety since childhood, but started having full blown panic attacks twelve years after taking a prescription decongestant. Since then I have been having to deal with these off and on. For the last two weeks they have been a constant companion of mine. I just don't know how to deal with them any more.

      Treatments

      Psychotherapy Not Working
      I have seen six different counsellors who gave me six different causes of my panic attacks and no real solutions to my problem. Maybe I'm beyond help?
      Lexapro Working / Worked
      My former doctor put me on Lexapro once a day. After a couple of days I had to go off it because it worsened my symptoms to where I was contemplating suicide. The nurse I talked to at the time said I did it to myself and the medicine wasn't to blame. Funny, a day after going off it the suicidal thoughts went away as well.
