Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

Beginning with "acute major depression" I morphed into Bipolar Disorder One. Usually in the depressive phase, I struggle with an overwhelming sense of melancholy with a sprinkling of suicidal ideation.

Treatments

Celexa Not Working

Took for over 6 months. Side effects of anxiety, panic, mixed states.

Cymbalta Not Working

Did not work. Side effects of anxiety, panic, mixed states.

Effexor Not Working

Did not work. Anxiety, suicidal ideation, confusion.

Geodon Not Working

Side effects: Tics - bad. Facial expressions tight and stiff. Clumsy.

Lexapro Somewhat Helpful

Not for very long. Insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, confusion. Stopped working.

Paxil Not Working

Bipolar symptoms were pushing out. Paxil exacerbated them. Stopped working.

Positive Thinking Working / Worked

I won't go lying down. I am a fighter, however, there are circumstances where fighting is overtaken by the illness.

Psychotherapy Working / Worked

Has kept me from the deepest darkness of the illnesses. Has kept alive. One psychiatrist in 8 years. A wonderful relationship as "I am teacher and she is student and then I am student and she is teacher." Quote CynthiaSabo

Seroquel Not Working

Rigid facial motions. Changed texture of my hair. Tics, tics, tics.

Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked

Family is the light at the end of the tunnel. God is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Wellbutrin Not Working

Horrible. Turned my stark white spiky hair Yellow. Uggh! try to get that out.

Writing Somewhat Helpful

It helps me remember.

Zoloft Working / Worked

Worked for a short time then stopped working. Side effects of anxiety and exacerbated depression began to overtake me.
