Close Kidney Stones
I have been a "stoner" for 8 years. I also have MSK. I work in a urology office. I also am back in school & hope that I can get some help with my research project about kidney stones.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Too Soon to Tell
- I'm trying to do a Low Oxalate. It is hard any suggestions? Or other things I can do to help? (I have "rock solid" calcium oxalate stones)
- Surgery Somewhat Helpful
- LOTS of surgery. Several Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), Ureteropyeloscopy And Laser Lithotripsy, Percutaneous Nephrostolithotomy (PCNL). There is a possibility of doing Open Surgical Techniques. Only time will tell.
- Flomax Working / Worked
- It helped for one stone but didnt work so well for the others. It really depends on the person and the stone size. I recommend that anyone with kidney stones try it! Some side effects but the outcome is much better then surgery.
