Close Graves' Disease
I was diagnosed with Graves in 7/08 at a routine diabetes appointment. I have been a juvenile diabetic since 1974 and experienced all the hyperthyroid related symptoms. After being on Tapezole for 6 months I received RAI 1/09. In 7/09 I started noticing some eye swelling and have been in an active stage on TED ever since. I am currently on Prednisone which is effecting my blood sugars and have seen eye doctors including two orbital specialists and they are now considering radiation on the eyes.
Treatments
- Radioactive Iodine Working / Worked
- Still adjusting my levoxyl and now in active TED.
- Synthroid Working / Worked
- My TSH is still out of range and the endocrinologist is still making adjustments.
Close Diabetes Type 1
I have juvenile diabetes and Graves Disease. My diabetes has always been under control until I was recently diagnosed with Thyroid Eye Disorder and am currently on Prednisone effecting my blood sugars.
Treatments
- Insulin (Regular and NPH) Working / Worked
- Have been on these medications for many years and was controlling my sugars well until recently when I was diagnosed with Graves and Thyroid Eye Disease.
