Open Ankylosing Spondylitis

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 16 years ago and recently was told I may have AS. I tested positive for the gene, have hardening and arthritis in my sacrolialic joint and have the rest of the symptoms. Need more education and to see if maybe I could have both.

Open Chronic Pain

I have had chronic pain as far back as I can remember. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, arthritis in my sacroliliac joint that could be ankylosing spondylitis and tested positive for the gene. I'm a single mom with an extremely active little girl and the pain is keeping me from fully enjoying her.

Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked

I did find the more I went, the more my back "popped out" easily. So I had to discontinue.

Cymbalta Too Soon to Tell

I just started this and it seems like it is doing some good! I'm hopeful!

Flexeril Working / Worked

Does help relieve some of them cramping in the middle of the night. Have just begun to take a second dose during the day.

Heat Working / Worked

It helps with the stiffness and pain.

Hydrocodone Not Working

Over the years I've built up a tolerance to where it is pretty much like taking aspirin.

Meditation Somewhat Helpful

Have trouble clearing my mind.

Methadone Somewhat Helpful

Was in a pain program for a bit and it took some of the edge off.

Mobic Not Working

I vomited every day for two weeks while on this.

Neurontin Working / Worked

Just started taking this and I'm hopeful because I have felt better since starting to take it.

Oxycodone Working / Worked

Until I built a tolerance up, they took the edge off.

Physical Therapy Working / Worked

Got back some range of motion.

TENS Working / Worked

Works pretty well! Some days I wear it all day long and am able to sleep better. I've never tried wearing it all night long. They said I could, but I don't think so.

Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

I have been in chronic pain since childhood. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and possibly have Ankylosing Spondylitis because I tested positive for the gene. I'm adopted, which I've always had problems with. I'm a single mom raising my daughter with my mother, who we live with. I'm on disability and have a hard time making friends.

Open Hypothyroidism

I had always been borderline until I had my daughter on July 7, 2009. Soon after my thyroid stopped working altogether. It is currently being managed, but some of the symptoms remain.

Open Loneliness

I was adopted at 6 days old and was raised by my mom and dad. It was just the three of us. They were both socially withdrawn and I never really learned how to make friends. The only person I have to talk to is my mom and I've driving her nuts. I'm a single mom and raising her with my mom.

I'm a single mom to a smart, lively, beautiful little girl born on 7/7/08. She's the first baby I've really taken care of and sometimes I feel completely clueless.

She loves to color and watch The Fresh Beat Band, Dora, Wow Wow Wubbzy, The Wonder Pets and Jack's Big Music show. So we watch those together. She loves to drum and pretends everything is a cell phone.

I have so much trouble getting tired, falling asleep and staying asleep. The only time I slept well was when I was pregnant.

Treatments

Ambien Working / Worked

It helped me to sleep but I did have some complications with it. I would clean the entire house and not know where I put things. And once I carved a hole through two layers of skin the size of a nickel and didn't feel it at all. Use with caution and follow the directions! Just because you feel ok, doesn't mean you're not ODing.

Ativan Somewhat Helpful

Didn't last long and I didn't stay asleep.

I start to fall asleep but if it's a good book sometimes it keeps me up.
