Good Luck
And I'm glad they got you off of that wretched depakote! Sounds like it was doing a number on you. And don't worry, you will not be in the hospital FOREVER! Although I'm sure some days it may seem that way. You've come a long way in a short time. Two medication changes in two weeks and you are already allowed to leave to visit your family?? That's awesome progress my dear! Be patient with yourself. You're getting there...
Ray of Sunshine
Hello there! I'm so happy to hear from you!! So they let you escape from the hospital for a few hours? That's great! That means you're doing better because trust me they wouldn't let you go home if you weren't. My daughter is on abilify as well, it's done pretty good for her so far. Everyone is different, but it sounds like it's starting to work for you. Side effects suck a big one, but most of them come because your body is getting used to the medication, hopefully they will subside over time. Lithium is a wonder drug for many people. It's the oldest and most time tested BP drug around. Your doctors know what they are doing, if they chose it for you, then they must believe the initial trial went well. Glad to hear the paranoia is subsiding, I know that can be pretty scary. The medication will take time to get the maximum benefit. You sister sounds adorable! I'm sure she missed you a whole lot. I'm so happy you got a chance to be home with your family for a while. Use that as inspiration to make the best of you last few days in the hospital. You are so blessed to have the support of your family! A lot of people don't. And have no fear, I'm sure you will be able to go home for Thankgiving! You seem to be doing so well. I was so surprised to check my e_mail and see a message from you! I'm just sorry I wasn't able to catch you online, but don't worry I'll be here when you get home for THANKSGIVING!! You're a wonderful young lady. As always, take care of you. You seem to be doing that just fine! Deb

Got my free turkey today for Thanksgiving! I love free stuff. Holidays can be difficult for my daughter, so we try and keep it as low key as possible, no guests, just the family hanging out and eating like farm animals. What do you do with your family? Just thinking about you and hoping you will be home for Thanksgiving. But it shouldn't take a holiday for us to be thankful right? I'm thankful that you are getting the help you deserve. No matter what day it is, that's what's most important, so take care of you! That's my thought of the day. I'll check back soon. Be well.
Miss You
Just wanted you to know you're missed and I can't wait to hear all the great hospital stories. There's always someone there far more screwed up than you and usually can make for a good laugh. Not that I'm promoting laughing at the misfortune of others, but come on, some of these folks really brighten your day. Can't wait to hear about yours :) We miss you Hun. Hurry back. Deb.

Hope you're doing well. I know med changes can take a while. Just know that you have an extended family here routing you on and praying for you. Godspeed.

Close Bipolar Disorder
I have rapid cycling bipolor disorder which...sucks, its like the hardest form of BD to treat. It just seems like I NEVER stop cycling and I can only ever feel normal for maybe...3 or 4 days max at the moment. And to be honest I cant even remember feeling normal for that long anyway.
