Step 1- proof I have Endo, now what? Mood
Tuesday, November 3, 2009 | A Venting story

Ok, here goes...I had a laproscpopic procedure 9/3/09 with Dr. David Herzog Staten Island/Brooklyn for what was supposed to be a cystectomy. I told him I believed I had Endometriosis, but he wasn't so sure...after the surgery, he sad it was the worst case of endo he had seen and diagnosed it severe stage iv and a chocolate cyst. For what he could see, he said it affected the intestines and pelvis(frozen pelvis). He was unable to remove the chocolate cyst, but took the left one. My mom said he told her he only shrunk them and was unable to remove them. I was very unhappy that i was sent home from the hospital without a clear indication of what was done and what needed to be done in the future. My appt to see him(as I did not see him in the recovery room and was released from the hospital the same day at 930pm) was not for two weeks. I returned to work after five days, but within two days i was in terrible pain and the bellybutton incision had become infected. I was told to go to the ER, S.I. Richmond, but was not given antibiotics and my doctor and the others in the practice were too busy in surgery to treat me-EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD ME TO GO ALL THE WAY TOO S.I. SO THEY COULD SEE ME!It was a hefty ER bill for nothing. The DR. claimed when I saw him that he didnt say to return to work, but my family insists he said I could go for the first day of school, I'm a teacher. Then the infection was bad and he couldn't give me a date as to when I might be able to go back to work- i had to file for an unpaid leave and my principal is a dick who doesnt understand. Aaaaaahhhhhhhh, that felt good. thanks.

p.s is a dr obligated to tell you if they perferate something during the surgery? I read in the post-op report that he perferated something and applied surgi-seal to stop the bleeding, but he never told me himself I had to find it. He wanted me to take lupron depot 11.25 for six months and operate at least two more times, and that was what finally made me start looking at other doctors.
