Two things. You said you were using bonjela, have you ever thought about using Anbesol - http://www.expresschemist.co.uk/anbesol.html - it's like a local anaesthetic and is useful if your nerve pain is affecting your teeth/gums. On that note, you can get a small bottle (like aromatherapy oil size) of Clove Oil from Holland and Barrett and apply that directly to teeth/gums. Dentists use it as it is good at deadening nerve pain. I have found it useful when combined with other forms of pain relief, although it does make your mouth feel a bit ugh as it is strong tasting. Also Oraldene mouthwash is good.
