Dealing with RA. Found DS looking up methotrexate testimonials. Since i'm uninsured and have severe RA, i'm doing/searching/trying everything i can to help me.
Treatments
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- It's just a B vitamin you have to take with MTX because that is what MTX does is blocks Folic acid.
- Methotrexate Somewhat Helpful
- Affordable. $20/mo i can do. Problem. it has it's side effects. mostly tiredness. some nausea, but i think that has passed. For 2 days after i take it, i'm completely drained. then it works for about 3 days, i think, because i notice the stiffness come back strong about 1-2 days before i take it again. I'm thinking 20mg instead of 15 and ride it out another month or two to see if the tiredness goes away at all. Trying to get off the prednisone, ya know. Don't look very promising.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- So far it's the only thing working directly. Been trying to get off of it, but 10mg i might as well not even be taking it, but 20mg seems to keep me working. When i first started taking it, 40mg a day, my hands almost looked normal again. swelling WAY down. but that is way too much steroids, and not good.
- Tylenol Working / Worked
- I take it for the occasional headache, because it's not recommended for me to take NSAIDs anymore. But aleve is WAY better.
